Private Connect

Private Connect uses AWS PrivateLink to provide secure, private, and dedicated connections between your network environments and Tableau Cloud. By routing traffic entirely over private address space, your data never traverses the public internet. This network isolation helps meet strict security policies and compliance regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA.

Outbound Private Connect

Outbound Private Connect allows users to securely connect from Tableau Cloud to cloud-hosted data providers. It restricts data traffic to private networks and can simplify architecture by removing the need for other tools like Tableau Bridge. Once established, creators simply use a special connection address exactly as they would a standard database connection.

Inbound Private Connect

Inbound Private Connect secures traffic flowing from your organization's network to Tableau Cloud. It supports standard interactions over a private connection, including web browser access, Tableau Desktop publishing, Tableau Bridge connections, and API calls. This completely isolates your analytical data, user sessions, and login pages from the public web.
