Monitor Site Activity
Monitor site usage and activity with these prebuilt administrative views and data sources.
-
Admin Views: The set of embedded dashboards you can access from the Status page. They show near real-time information about what's happening on your site. You can use them to see site activity, but you can't change or subscribe to them.
-
Admin Insights: The data sources and starter workbook published in the Admin Insights project on your site. The data updates daily and can be used to build custom admin dashboards for your organization.
To audit your data for security or custom analytics, get tenant and site event logs using these additional features.
-
Tableau Cloud Manager (TCM) REST API: The platform data methods (also called the Platform Data API) get tenant and site event logs. Users with a Cloud Administrator role can access these events using any client capable of making API calls. For more information, see Platform Data Methods(Link opens in a new window) in TCM REST API Reference.
-
Activity Log: The Activity Log sends site event logs to an Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) bucket for analysis. To use Activity Log, you must have an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account, an Amazon S3 bucket to receive data, and an AWS Key Management Service (KMS) key. For more information, see Activity Log.
