Monitor Site Activity
These features provide admins with ready to use visual analytics about the usage and activity on their Tableau Cloud site.
-
Admin Views: The set of embedded dashboards you can access from the Status page. They show near real-time information about what's happening on your site. You can use them to see site activity, but you can't change or subscribe to them.
-
Admin Insights: The data sources and starter workbook published in the Admin Insights project on your site. The data updates daily and can be used to build custom admin dashboards for your organization.
To monitor and audit data for security monitoring systems or custom analytics solutions, you can retrieve tenant and site event logs using these additional methods.
-
Tableau Cloud Manager (TCM) REST API: The administrative methods of this API, also called the Platform Data API, let users audit tenant and site event logs, using any client capable of making API calls. To use this API, you must be a Tableau user with a Cloud Administrator role. For more information, see TCM REST API Reference(Link opens in a new window).
-
Activity Log: The Activity Log lets you audit site event logs by configuring your Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) bucket to receive Tableau Cloud data. To use Activity Log, you must have an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account, an Amazon S3 bucket to receive data, and an AWS Key Management Service (KMS) key. For more information, see Activity Log.
