Tableau Next Setup Guide


This is a quickstart guide to Tableau Next setup for someone with no Salesforce experience or who hasn't created a Salesforce org. Tableau Next is a flexible, agentic analytics platform built in Salesforce and integrated with a unified data layer, trusted semantics, and Salesforce with Agentforce. Because Tableau Next uses the power of Data Cloud and AI for analysis, you need to set them up inside a Salesforce org before you and others on your team can use Tableau Next.

Who this guide is for: This guide assumes one person will walk through all the setup steps, acting as a Salesforce Admin, Data Cloud Architect, and Tableau Next Admin. But you can choose to assign these roles to different people, too.

What this guide is for: The goal of this guide is to walk a designated person through the minimum required setup steps for Tableau Next. If a step doesn’t work or you need more information, you can find more in-depth task and conceptual information in the help links for each step.

What this guide is not: This guide does not go into all of the planning and setup steps possible when implementing a Salesforce org, Data Cloud, Tableau Semantics, or AI in Salesforce.
